1. Were Tom Brady’s Bucs overhyped?

The biggest story going into the season was easily the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers with many wondering if Brady could make it to the Super Bowl on a team without coach Bill Belichick. All this hype eventually led to the Buccaneers having the fifth-highest Super Bowl odds going into Week 1.

However, the team that lost to the New Orleans Saints, 34-23, in the season opener was far from what people envisioned. Many expected Brady to find success early as the Bucs were staffed with the best receiving corps he had ever had. However, he was clearly not always on the same page as his receivers, throwing two bad interceptions, one of which was a pick-six.

It is easy to chalk this Week 1 loss up to a tough opponent and growing pains for a team with a new quarterback. The legitimacy of Brady’s Super Bowl chances should become more clear in the coming weeks, where the Bucs will face much weaker opponents in the Panthers, Broncos and Chargers.
