3. New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks

Not too long ago, the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks had one of the most iconic Super Bowl games of all time which ended on an iconic play — the Malcolm Butler interception. Heading into this matchup, this will be the second time the teams have played since that Super Bowl but, since that vaunted meeting, the teams have gone through a bit of a change.

The changes with the Patriots are obvious. Tom Brady led the team for 20 years but is now heading the offense in Tampa Bay. But when it seemed like Jarrett Stidham would get the start, New England found Cam Newton sitting in free agency. And in the former NFL MVP’s first game, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels leaned into Newton’s size and athleticism with creative designed runs for the quarterback.

Seattle’s defense has changed quite a bit since the Super Bowl meeting with New England as only Bobby Wagner remains from that core group. However, they did add Jamal Adams this offseason. But quarterback Russell Wilson remains and he’s a game-changer. He didn’t look as if he was being held back by coaches in Week 1 as he aired it out and dominated Atlanta.

This is obviously not the same teams that played back in 2015 with the Super Bowl on the line. However, with a possible new look for Wilson and the Seahawks offense facing a great Patriots defense while New England figures out how to operate with Newton, this is one of the best games on the Week 2 slate.
