The Atlanta Falcons blew another lead and these were the studs and duds from the Week 2 loss.

Even though it was just Week 2 of the NFL regular season, the Atlanta Falcons had a big early-season test on Sunday afternoon on the road against a tough NFC opponent.

Looking for their first win of the new year after falling the season-opener at home a week ago, the Falcons hit the road to square off against the Dallas Cowboys while trying to avoid dropping to 0-2 overall for the first time since the 2017 campaign.

Behind an early and dominant start at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, it looked like Atlanta was going to be able to cruise to its first win of the season, but things changed for the worst late in the game. The Falcons below a 20-0 lead while falling to the Cowboys in the final seconds, 40-39 on Sunday.

In the game, the Falcons got things going early, but ultimately couldn’t hold off the Cowboys from coming back.

In the first half, Atlanta carried a 29-10 advantage into halftime thanks to a 20-0 outburst in the first quarter to take Dallas out of the game early on at home.

In the second half, the Cowboys stormed back while holding a 30-10 advantage to pull out the stunning victory as the clock hit zero.

With the loss, Atlanta drops to 0-2 overall and falls to the bottom of the NFC South standings that will be tough to claim in 2020. With the win, Dallas avoids a disappointing 0-2 start while getting back to the .500 mark and improving to 1-1 overall in the early stages of the year.

The Falcons will get back to action in Week 3 when they return home to host the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta while trying to avoid fall to 0-3 overall. The Cowboys will hit the road for another tough game while trying to win two in a row when they face the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle in Week 3.

Following the Sunday afternoon contest between the Falcons and Cowboys, here are three studs and duds for Atlanta that appeared in the game.
