Stud: Matt Ryan

Another thing that was good to see for Falcons fans on Sunday afternoon against the Cowboys in Dallas was the play by veteran quarterback Matt Ryan.

Oftentimes over the past few years, Ryan has done a nice job leading the offense in Atlanta and he led the charge of what ended up being a 39-point performance in Week 2.

The veteran quarterback finished the game completing 24 of his 36 pass attempts, throwing for 273 yards and four touchdowns through the air. Perhaps most importantly, Ryan didn’t turn the ball over via interception in the game, which is a great thing to see if you’re Atlanta.

This offense for the Falcons is powerful. And it starts under center with Ryan leading the way.

Dud: Dropping to 0-2 overall

Going into the year, Atlanta wanted to try and avoid an early-season collapse like what had happened during the 2019 campaign, and it appeared to be well on its way to improving to 1-1 on the year going into the Week 3 contest back at home.

The Falcons, however, collapsed late in Dallas while dropping the contest and falling to a winless record through two games in the 2020 campaign.

Not only does the 0-2 record drop Atlanta in the NFC standings as a whole, but it makes things extremely difficult to try and be competitive within the NFC South division alongside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers.

Atlanta just keeps hurting themselves, and you can’t have performances like Sunday’s Week 2 performance happen in the NFL. Moving forward, the Falcons have their work cut out for them while trying to put something together to ultimately reach the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
