Studs and duds from the Minnesota Vikings’ Week 2 loss to the Colts.

After a disappointing start to the 2020 NFL season in Week 1, the Minnesota Vikings were hoping to hit the road in Week 2 while correcting some strong concerns on both sides of the ball and get back on track early on in the new year.

Unfortunately for the Vikings, their Week 2 performance was perhaps even more concerning and disappointing than the loss the week prior. On Sunday afternoon against the Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota looked rough throughout the game while falling 28-11, its second straight defeat to begin the regular season.

Even though it ended up being a 17-point deficit, the game wasn’t really even that close between Indianapolis and Minnesota on Sunday.

To begin the game, the Colts jumped out to an early lead on their home field after falling behind the Vikings 3-0 after the first quarter. Right before halftime, Indianapolis outscored Minnesota 15-0 in the second quarter to take a 15-3 lead into halftime and not look back.

In the second half, the Colts scored 13 points over the final two quarters and the Vikings were able to score a garbage-time touchdown to get into the endzone for the first time in the game, but that wasn’t enough to make things interesting.

With the loss, Minnesota falls to 0-2 on the year and drops to the bottom of the NFC North division standings behind the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears. Indianapolis, on the other hand, grabs its first win of the season and improves to 1-1 while bouncing back after its Week 1 loss.

In Week 3, the Vikings will return home in hopes of trying to finally snag their first win of the 2020 campaign. Minnesota will host another AFC opponent when the Tennessee Titans come to US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon.

The Colts look to keep their winning ways rolling when they host the New York Jets on Sunday evening in Indianapolis.

Now with the Week 2 contest over with, let’s take a look back at some studs and duds for the Vikings in the loss.
