New England Patriots: 3 Bold predictions for Week 2 vs. Seahawks
Bold predictions for the New England Patriots against the Seahawks in NFL Week 2.
After opening the 2020 NFL season with an impressive win, the New England Patriots aim to make it two in a row during the second week of action around the league this weekend.
New England, which defeated the Miami Dolphins to begin the new season last Sunday afternoon in Foxborough, will hit the road for a tough matchup against an NFC opponent in Week 2 while looking to extend its winning streak.
The Patriots take the field of another team for the first time in the 2020 campaign when they face off against the Seattle Seahawks on the national stage of Sunday Night Football on Sunday night at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
Both teams will look to further extend their leads in their respective conferences during the second week of the regular season this weekend, with both New England and Seattle both grabbing victories to start the year.
For the Patriots, they are coming off of a 21-11 win over the Dolphins in Week 1 at Gillette Stadium, moving to the top of the AFC East division right out of the gate.
In the game, we saw a lot of what we’ve seen out of New England in the past, mainly its dominant defensive display. That was paired with the new-look offense featuring the newest weapon under center in quarterback Cam Newton.
The Patriots got out to a lead in the game when Newton used his legs to rush for the first touchdown of the season for New England. The Patriots used that advantage to ride into halftime up 7-3 over Miami.
In the second half, New England continued to display what it did in the first half, with Newton kicking off the scoring in the final two quarters on the ground once again and adding the second rushing touchdown of his Patriots debut.
On the other side, the Seahawks are coming off of a 38-25 win over the Atlanta Falcons last week in the season opener, grabbing their first win of the year in the first game of the regular season on the road.
In the game, Seattle opened the game up by outscoring Atlanta 14-3, ending up taking a 14-12 lead going into the break. In the second half, the Seahawks once again opened a half with a hot start, going on to outscore the Falcons in 24-13 in the final two quarters to pick up the road victory.
Before the Week 2 matchup gets underway between New England and Seattle on Sunday night, here are three bold predictions that will take place for the Patriots on the national stage.
