The Philadelphia Eagles host the Los Angeles Rams in NFL Week 2 at Lincoln Financial Field.

The 2020 season started out quite differently for the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams. While the former suffered an upset loss, one of the most surprising to start the year, the Rams forced an upset of their own and were dominant in victory. But now the two clubs are slated to meet in NFL Week 2 at Lincoln Financial Field with plenty to prove for both parties.

For the hosting Eagles, Carson Wentz and the offense looked out of their depth against a supposedly inferior Washington team in the season-opener. Philadelphia has been ravaged by injuries, especially on the offensive line, and that unit plus a defensive line that’s built to pressure quarterbacks will need to step up for the team to move to 1-1 on the year.

Aaron Donald and the Rams defense, however, will hope to get after Wentz on Sunday afternoon. He was a beast in the win over Dallas but what may have been more impressive was Jared Goff and the rest of Sean McVay’s offense. The question now becomes if that unit can continue to look like a well-oiled machine that had the franchise in Super Bowl contention recently.

There’s no question that the Eagles and Rams enter this NFL Week 2 matchup on completely different early-season footing. Philadelphia is reeling after an awful loss last week and, if they want to have a chance at defending their NFC East crown, they desperately need to avoid an 0-2 start to the year.

Meanwhile, the Rams looked like an iteration of the team that made it to the Super Bowl in their win last week. Was it fool’s gold or is that what we can expect from Los Angeles in 2020? How they fare in Week 2 against another NFC East foe will be quite telling in that capacity.
