Fantasy Football: 5 Replacements for Saquon Barkley on your roster
3. Myles Gaskin, Miami Dolphins
ESPN Rostered Percentage: 12.4
Admittedly, Myles Gaskin isn’t the same level of addition as Dion Lewis or James Robinson would be. Having said that, his usage in the Miami Dolphins offense through the first two weeks has been at least worth noting to the point where he could be considered someone to help replace the loss of Barkley.
This offseason, the Dolphins added Jordan Howard via free agency and Matt Breida in a trade. It figured that, after the team had the worst rushing attack in the league last season, both of those players would dominate touches in the Miami backfield. Having said that, Gaskin has crept into the mix and has made a noticeable impact.
Through two games, Gaskin has 16 carries for 86 yards. While that’s not jaw-dropping by any measure, having consistent success with your touches earns a player more looks and he’s averaging over 5.0 yards per carry to this point. Furthermore, he has 10 receptions for 62 yards over the first two games as well.
Especially in PPR leagues, Gaskin should have some real value to be picked up if you’re now hurting at the running back spot without Barkley. If he continues to make plays, his role is only going to grow in the Dolphins offense and he’s looked good to this point of the early season.
