21. team. 10. . . Previous: 19th. Houston Texans

Two weeks into the post Deandre Hopkins era and the Houston Texans look like a lost team. They were beaten easily in Week 1 by the Kansas City Chiefs and while that was understandable, the way they bounced back was not.

Now, they again drew a short straw as they went from the Chiefs to the Baltimore Ravens this week but they looked like they went in the wrong direction. After a solid first game, David Johnson was a non-factor in Week 2. He finished with just 34 yards on 11 carries and 16 yards on two catches. Meanwhile, Hopkins is dominant for the Cardinals and has helped them jump out to a 2-0 lead.

As for Houston, they’re now 0-2 and Deshaun Watson has spent the first 120 minutes of the season running for his life. The blocking is non-existent and his four sacks on Sunday don’t accurately reflect how many hits he took in this game.

Clearly, the moves made by Bill O’Brien haven’t worked. Trading Hopkins was a mistake and the excuse that they couldn’t afford him makes no sense when they had no problem paying David Johnson and Brandin Cooks the contracts they inherited. As long as O’Brien continues to run unchecked, things will probably only get worse in Houston — which is a shame considering how talented Watson is.
