The New England Patriots deserve a lot of credit for how they fought back in their Sunday Night Football loss to the Seattle Seahawks. They put up 13 points in the final quarter and almost made it 20 as they got the ball down to the one-yard line with two seconds to play.

This came after a masterful drive from Cam Newton that covered 80 yards before he was hit for a one-yard loss that ended the game with Seattle walking away with a 35-30 win. For Newton, it was one of the first times he was stopped all game as he was superb in this one.

Newton had 397 yards passing with a touchdown and added 47 yards and two more scores. His favorite target was Julian Edelman who had 179 yards on eight receptions. The two also nearly connected for a game-winner as Newton threw a ball that went right between No. 11’s hands in the end zone on that same final drive.

The loss surely stings but they were beaten on the road by one of the better teams in the NFL. There’s nothing to be discouraged about as they still looked like contenders and so far the Cam experiment seems to be paying off for Bill Belichick and the Pats.
