2. Beckham tops 100 yards

Odell Beckham Jr. re-established his connection with Mayfield last week. The duo linked up four times for 74 yards and a touchdown. However, Beckham hasn’t hit the 100-yard mark for the season yet, and his last 100-yard game came in Week 6 of last season. He hasn’t meshed with Mayfield, and the former Pro Bowler’s time in Cleveland is nothing short of disappointing.

In his four healthy seasons with the New York Giants, Beckham averaged four 100-yard receiving games per year. He only recorded two such games last season and set a career-low with 64.7 receiving yards per game. His previous low was 75.5 and came in his four-game, injury-shortened 2017 season.

Beckham maintains a superstar profile off the field, but he’s faltered over the past three years. The 27-year-old’s legacy might ride on how he performs this season.

1. Cleveland wins by 21 points

Washington’s greatest strength is its defensive line. If the Browns find some way to combat the waves of sack artists and athletic edge rushers, they should cruise to a win over Ron Rivera‘s team. Dwayne Haskins is extremely limited as a quarterback. He’s not mobile and hasn’t completed over 60% of his pass attempts in a game this season. Washington might only score 14 points.

Week 3 gives Mayfield and the Browns a chance to cement their identities. Against a questionable secondary and weak offense, Cleveland can’t get caught in a close game. If the Browns don’t execute on both sides of the ball this week, then they’ll never put things together. This is a confidence-building game Cleveland must take advantage of.
