2. Diggs hauls in a pick

It’s clear that Trevon Diggs is going to be a very good NFL player. In just two games with the Dallas Cowboys, he’s proven he belongs as he’s found himself going toe-to-toe with some talented wideouts. This past weekend, he was battling with Julio Jones and while the Falcons offense was insane, Jones wasn’t the reason for that.

This isn’t to say Diggs shut him down, because that also was not the case. It was a team effort to slow down the best wideout in Atlanta and for Diggs, this was good because he handled his own whenever he was asked to. And he also nearly had a huge play that could have made the game easier on Dallas.

In the third quarter, Matt Ryan targeted Calvin Ridley deep as he threw it into the end zone from the 42. The Atlanta quarterback didn’t get enough under the ball though as it was just short of Ridely, but right to Diggs. The rookie was unable to haul it in and Atlanta ended up scoring a touchdown to make it 36-24. They still won so it’s a moot point but that could have been a huge game-changer for Dallas and also would have been big for the second-round pick.

This bold prediction is that in Week 3, Diggs will make up for the drop by picking off Russell Wilson. So far in 2020, Wilson has just one interception (which was a tipped pass that turned into a pick-six for the Patriots on Sunday Night Football) which means it won’t be easy for Diggs to live up to this one. Still, he’s been close so far and it feels like time for him to make an impactful play.
