1. Mitchell Trubisky finally has a complete game

Despite leading the Bears to a 2-0 record to start the season, Trubisky still hasn’t impressed enough for people to take the Chicago Bears as serious playoff contenders. He has yet to have a complete game.

In Week 1, Trubisky struggled for three quarters before suddenly looking like a world-beater. In Week 2, he did the opposite. He came out hot, looking like the overall second pick that he was. However, he reverted back to the struggling quarterback that has marred his career.

With the poor rankings of the Falcons’ pass defense, Trubisky should finally have that complete game everyone craves. The Falcons just cannot stop a passing attack.

If Trubisky can keep his mistakes to a minimum and he remembers to do what helped him do well, he should have a big game. He should have a clean pocket for most of the game.

Some people may point to the offensive line giving up five sacks, four of them in Week 2. Looking deeper, however, of those sacks, he had wide-open receivers that he just didn’t look for. On one, he had Mooney open in front of him. Instead of taking the underneath play, Trubisky wanted the big play. It wasn’t there and he took a sack.

On another play, if Trubisky looked to his left he would have seen an open Jimmy Graham. He didn’t and he took a sack.

On the Bears’ final play on offense, Trubisky had a key third-and-nine. Trubisky couldn’t find anyone open. He took off towards the sideline. He didn’t want to go out of bounds so he slid a yard behind the line of scrimmage instead of cutting up and gaining three or four yards. He wouldn’t have gotten the first down but gaining four yards as opposed to losing one could’ve made the difference in Cairo Santos possibly making a key field goal.

Trubisky has to play more naturally and not overthink things. Overthinking gets him into trouble. When he played like his hair was on fire in Week 1 he started seeing the field better and made good decisions. He should get that opportunity to do that this week.

With an improved offensive line and the running game providing cover for him, Trubisky should have time to operate and have a big game.

Prediction: Trubisky finishes with 334 yards, 4 passing touchdowns. He adds 48 rushing yards.
