DraftKings NFL picks, Week 3: Best DFS fantasy football values
By Drew DeLuca
We sift through the wreckage and identify the best DraftKings NFL bargains Week 3.
After a war of attrition known as Week 2, we regroup from a dizzying volume of high-profile injuries in search of the best NFL DFS fantasy football values on the DraftKings main slate, which excludes prime time games. Week 3 allows us no Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, Michael Thomas or George Kittle, so identifying the best values at every position is more important than ever.
We put first aid kids aside and tackle the challenge head-on, starting with the quarterback position, perhaps the most underrated of all in terms of importance.
It’s not easy to win in cash games without hitting on the quarterback position, and it’s next to impossible in GPP formats.
DraftKings NFL Week 3 values: Quarterbacks
Even though Russell Wilson (SEA vs. DAL, $7,300) is the highest-priced quarterback on the slate, he’s still a value who can be stacked with both DK Metcalf (SEA vs. DAL, $6,500) and Tyler Lockett (SEA vs. DAL, $6,400). Meanwhile, Dak Prescott (DAL vs. SEA, $7,200) can be paired with Amari Cooper (DAL at SEA, $6,500) and CeeDee Lamb (DAL at SEA, $5,400) for a total package savings of $900, money that could be well spent on a WR3 or TE upgrade.
However, Kyler Murray (ARI vs DET, $6,800) is my overall QB2 this week, ahead of both Prescott, and Wilson, as well as Patrick Mahomes. The former first overall pick from Oklahoma, who leads all quarterbacks in rushing yards (158), and is tied for second in rushing touchdowns (3), should decimate the Detroit Lions with both his feet and arm.
Ryan Tannehill (TEN at MIN, $5,900) faces a Minnesota Vikings defense that will be without two top cornerbacks this week, more than negating the loss of A.J. Brown. Feel free to fire up a lineup featuring him and Corey Davis (more on him below).
A bargain bin option to watch: Teddy Bridgewater (CAR at LAC, $5,200), who currently ranks 4th in the NFL in passing yards. Now without Christian McCaffrey, the Carolina Panthers will ask even more of Bridgewater, who is due for significant positive touchdown regression: he’s thrown only one touchdown pass so far this season, and the rookie signal-caller on the other side is more than capable of providing Bridgewater with a few short fields via turnovers.
