DraftKings NFL Week 3 values: Running Backs
Jonathan Taylor (IND vs. NYJ, $7,000) is not the most expensive option on the main slate, but he’s arguably one of the best in a matchup against the hapless New York Jets. The rookie logged 28 touches last week and posted 110 total yards, and we shudder to think of what he’ll do with that kind of volume in a positive game script against one of the league’s worst run defenses.
Miles Sanders (PHI vs. CIN, $6,400) returned to the lineup against the Los Angeles Rams, compiling 131 total yards in a losing effort. Sanders should build on those numbers thanks to a more favorable game script against the Cincinnati Bengals; expect a 100-plus yard game and at least one end zone trip.
Kenyan Drake (ARI vs. DET $6,000) is getting the volume, and it’s only a matter of time before the yards and touchdowns follow. Expect a huge day against a Lions defense that has allowed more fantasy points to running backs through two weeks than all but two NFL teams.
Jerrick McKinnon (SF at NYG $4,900), in an ironic twist of fortuitous fate, stands to be the primary beneficiary from injuries to Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman, especially in PPR formats like DraftKings. Some expect McKinnon to share time with Jeff Wilson, Jr., but the talented pass-catcher out of Georgia Southern has out-snapped the latter 32 to 5 through two games so far.
With Buffalo Bills running back Zack Moss now listed as OUT with a toe injury, Devin Singletary (BUF vs. LAR $4,900) suddenly offers great value in a high-volume role against a Rams defensive unit that ranks in the bottom seven in terms of fantasy points allowed to running backs. The second-year back out of Florida Atlantic is averaging nearly five yards per touch and is a near-lock to outperform his price.
Antonio Gibson (WAS at CLE $4,700) is slowly seeing more volume and should continue to steal more snaps from subpar backfield mates J.D. McKissic and Peyton Barber. Gibson has already logged more snaps than any other Washington Football Team running back; given his skill as a receiver and electric athletic ability, it’s a good bet that Gibson becomes a focal point of the Football Team offense this week.
