DraftKings NFL Week 3 values: Tight Ends

TJ Hockenson (DET at ARI, $5,300) is one of two tight ends on the main slate I’m comfortable paying $5,000 or more for, and the other isn’t Tyler Higbee. After multiple trips to the end zone against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that can’t over the tight end, Higbee draws a much tougher assignment against the Bills, while Hockenson faces an Arizona Cardinals defense that was historically awful against tight ends last season.

Evan Engram (NYG vs SF, $5,000) should benefit from the absence of Saquon Barkley, not to mention a ton of injuries to the San Francisco 49ers front seven and secondary. Engram is a must-start for those playing multiple lineups, and is a great substitution for Slayton or Tate in the David Jones GPP stack mentioned above.

Hayden Hurst (ATL vs CHI, $4,700) saw an increase in targets and receptions in Week 2, while logging his first touchdown as a member of the Falcons, despite seeing a smaller share of snaps than in Week 1.  However, as much as we like Hurst, we prefer Jordan Reed (SF at NYG, $4,000), who showed out last week and gets another opportunity with George Kittle out once again.

Another great bargain bin option is Logan Thomas (WAS at CLE, $3,700), who offers major bang for the buck at the position as a potential high-volume target in a team that ‘s horrific against tight ends. Drew Sample (CIN at PHI, $3,500), who saw nine targets last week and has caught eight of ten passes thrown his way, gets to line up against an Eagles defense that has given up four tight end touchdowns already this season, most in the NFL.
