New York Jets have become a comedy of errors

The New York Jets 0-2 start continues a laughably bad turn for the franchise.

It doesn’t take a rant from any television or radio personality to know that the New York Jets are a poorly run organization. Since 1969 when Joe Namath allegedly made a deal with the devil prior to Super Bowl III, the Jets have yet to appear in the big game and have flustered heavily despite reaching the conference championship game a multitude of times.

They also have had several coaches come in and degenerate including the Rich Kotite era which included a 1-15 season. To make matters worse, they had Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick on their staff at one point, who now refer to their time spent with the Jets as “working with another organization”.

Now under head coach Adam Gase, who clearly was a mistake the moment he put the pen to paper to become the head coach, the team’s green has largely resembled the faces of every Jets fan who watches the team.

Everyone has pointed to Gase as a good coach because of his work with Peyton Manning. News flash, that tenure was just an anomaly. Last week, Jets owner Christopher Johnson spoke with the media about Gase and referred back to Manning’s endorsement, per ESPN:

"“”Look, I think he can work with and develop quarterbacks. I do continue to think he’s a brilliant offensive mind especially. He has my every confidence.”"

Say what? Does the owner think that? If that isn’t enough to make you fall out of the chair laughing or face-palm, you’re not paying attention.

In the last three seasons, the Jets offense under Gase has ranked 28th, 26th and 31st, respectively. Though he leads Miami to the playoffs as a wild-card team, many will once again refer to the term “a dead clock is right twice in a day”.

Le’Veon Bell, who at one point was one of the most dominant running backs in the game, has been reduced to injured hamstrings and damaged goods. Jamal Adams vocally displayed his displeasure and is now running like a potential Hall-Of-Famer with the Seahawks. Sam Darnold not only came down with mononucleosis, but his play has also rapidly deteriorated.

For good measure, the franchise fired its general manager Mike Maccagan following a draft and free agency period. What other franchise does that?

It’s already rough enough with memorable moments in Jets history with the A.J. Duhe game, the selection of Kyle Brady over Warren Sapp, passing on Dan Marino for Ken O’Brien, blowing a lead against the Colts and the Broncos in the AFC title game, and who of course could forget the Butt Fumble? One thing is clear, the fish rots from the head down. And the Jets clearly have been out of the stream for quite a bit.
