Although it was just the third week of the 2020 NFL regular season, the Minnesota Vikings game into Sunday afternoon’s game at home with a sense of urgency to get into the win column for the first time this year.

Coming into Week 3 with a winless record of 0-2, Minnesota welcomed in the undefeated Tennessee Titans to US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in what would be another tough contest to begin the season.

The Vikings looked like they would be able to ultimately pull out the win at home and grab the first victory of the season, but late-game execution bit Minnesota in the end and it fell to a winless record going into Week 4.

In the first half, Minnesota got some key defensive stops and got things rolling offensively to take an early lead going into halftime. The Vikings tallied a 7-6 advantage in the first quarter while outscoring the Titans 10-3 in the second quarter to maintain a 17-9 lead going into the break.

In the second half, Tennessee bounced back to put together a second-half comeback to grab the win on the road. The Titans outscored the Vikings 16-7 in the third quarter and the two teams each scored six points in the final quarter of the game. Tennessee ended up pulling ahead late thanks to a field goal with under a few minutes to play to get the road win.

With the win, Tennessee improved to an undefeated record of 3-0 on the season and looks to continue to keep things rolling early on in the 2020 campaign. In the loss, Minnesota’s disastrous season continues while it drops to 0-3 overall and to the bottom of both the NFC North and NFC standings.

Minnesota returns to the field in Week 4 next weekend when it hits the road to take on another AFC opponent in the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon in Houston. Tennessee will get back to action next weekend back at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon in Tennessee.
