The New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders were each on prime time games this past week and they had opposite results. New England was up first as they battled the Seattle Seahawks on the road, in a game that came down to the wire.

Seattle protected a lead down to the last second as Cam Newton was stuffed short of the goal-line while trying to run in what would have been a game-winning touchdown. While they didn’t get the victory, it was an impressive drive from Newton who put the Pats in condition to go for the win.

It was also a second-straight impressive outing for him with his new team. The former NFL MVP is proving that the Carolina Panthers might have moved on too early, while the team is also showing they can still have success even without Tom Brady.

For the Raiders, they were featured on Monday Night Football as they played their first-ever game in Allegiant Stadium — and that ended with them upsetting the New Orleans Saints. It was their second win of the season as they now enter Week 3 as one of the surprising 2-0 clubs.

Las Vegas has dropped 34 points in each of their first two games which has been unexpected and rather impressive. New England had just 21 in Week 1 but put up 30 against Seattle. This has the making of another shootout that could be very fun to see.
