The Cleveland Browns started off the 2020 NFL season seemingly already letting fans down. Kevin Stefanski and his new team got blown out against the Ravens, which didn’t inspire much confidence. However, they bounced back last week and now hope that they can move to 2-1 on the season as they face the Washington Football Team in NFL Week 3.
Baker Mayfield hasn’t necessarily been a world-beater through the first two games, which is somewhat concerning for the Browns. However, the team flashed its potential last week with all the weapons in tow, including Odell Beckham Jr., Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. It will be the defense that needs to step up, though, as that unit has been beaten quite a bit early on.
Washington, on the other hand, has been up and down. They got a Week 1 thanks to a Dwayne Haskins-led comeback but the Football Team is still rebuilding. The back of the defense is still an issue and the skill position players outside of Terry McLaurin leave a lot to be desired. Thus, it could be a tough matchup if Cleveland brings their A-game.

The Football Team likely overachieved in their Week 1 win against a suspect Eagles team while Cleveland is likely better than they were in their season-opener. There is a big talent disparity between the two rosters.

At the end of the day, this is a game that Cleveland needs to win. They shouldn’t be fighting for their lives against a team considered to be one of the worst in the league. Subsequently, we’ll see if Mayfield and Co. are ready to start truly proving themselves as a club that can be trusted.
