NFL Power Rankings, Week 4: Seahawks, Packers keep surging
By Randy Gurzi
It was a historic day for the Cleveland Browns as they were able to go above .500 for the first time since December of 2014 as they moved to 2-1 on the season following a 34-20 win over the Washington Football Team. It was also the first time since 2010 that they put up more than 30 points in back-to-back games.
For one more piece of history, it was also the first time since Oct. 28, 1962, when two teams with no logos on their helmets faced off. Back then, Cleveland defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, and this time, they took out the ‘Football Team’, although their helmets are blank like the Browns, but do at least have their numbers on it.
As for the game itself, Cleveland had a roller-coaster ride. They fell behind early but they went up 17-7 after a couple of interceptions led to short fields. They then stalled out for a while and let Washington take a 20-17 lead. However, the Browns dropped 17 unanswered points in the final quarter to take the win.
They again showed out on the ground with Nick Chubb running in two touchdowns while going for 108 yards and Kareem Hunt adding another 46 yards. Baker Mayfield was efficient with 156 yards and no picks but wasn’t exactly special. They’re getting better but this team is still learning to win and needs to clean a lot up.
