NFL Power Rankings, Week 4: Seahawks, Packers keep surging
By Randy Gurzi
At some point, the Dallas Cowboys players not named Dak Prescott are going to have to step up. Week after week, No. 4 is out there dealing and he can’t get the help he needs when he needs it. That was once again the case in Week 3 as he was able to throw for 472 yards and three touchdowns while adding 26 yards on the ground in defeat.
And as was the case in Week 2, Prescott spent the majority of the game trying to get his team back in the game. The Cowboys defense struggled to slow down the Seattle Seahawks and after falling behind 30-15, Prescott somehow brought them back and they went up 31-30 late in the fourth.
Unfortunately, the defense gave up a late score, and just like in their Week 1 loss to the Rams, Prescott was unable to overcome the pressure in his face on the final drive as their banged-up offensive line couldn’t hold off the pass rushers.
That O-line was even worse than normal this week as they ended up having to bring in Tyler Biadasz at center while shifting Joe Looney to right guard and Zack Martin to right tackle. Prescott also didn’t get much help from Ezekiel Elliott, who had just 34 yards rushing — not to mention the several passing plays designed for Zeke that were a disaster.
The good news for Dallas is their schedule, which has been brutal early on, gets easier. They have some winnable games with Cleveland and the New York Giants coming in the next two weeks before a tough matchup with Arizona. This will be a key stretch for them.
