It’s not often that a team starts 3-0 while benching their quarterback in that third game, but that’s what happened with the Chicago Bears. They entered Week 3 with a 2-0 record and Mitch Trubisky had seemed to take a step forward after the Bears brought in some competition this offseason.

Following a frustrating 2019 campaign, Chicago added Nick Foles in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars and it wasn’t until right before Week 1 that Trubisky was named the winner of that competition. But he was taken out in this one after the Bears had fallen behind 26-10 against the Atlanta Falcons.

In the place of the former No. 2 overall pick, Foles led the Bears on a ferocious comeback as he threw three touchdowns to lead the comeback. In the end, it was a 30-26 win for the Bears — and for the Falcons, it was their second0straigh epic meltdown.

Now, the question going forward will be all about what Chicago is going to do under center. Will Foles keep the job or will they go back to Trubisky. Sure, they have a lot invested in Trubisky but if they believed in him, they wouldn’t have added a former Super Bowl MVP. It feels as though this should be Foles’ team from here on out — and it should be.
