NFL Power Rankings, Week 4: Seahawks, Packers keep surging
By Randy Gurzi
One week after Cam Newton carved up a Seattle secondary to the tune of 397 yards passing, he was back under 200 in Week 3 as he had just 162 yards with a touchdown and a pick. It was a passing performance much closer to what we saw from him in Week 1 when he had 155 yards passing.
While he wasn’t getting as much through the air, this week was also like Week 1 in that the Patriots got themselves a win. In what we have come to know as typical Cam Newton football, they did so with a punishing ground game as the Pats ran for a total of 250 yards with two touchdowns.
Sony Michel was the leading runner who had 117 yards on the ground but it was Rex Burkhead who had their two scores. He also had the only receiving touchdown of the game as he was the No. 1 receiver, catching seven passes for 49 yards out of the backfield.
After the 36-20 win over Las Vegas, New England is now 2-1 and while they’re behind the Buffalo Bills who are now 3-0, they still are in the mix as they look to defend their dominance in the AFC East.
