NFL Power Rankings, Week 4: Seahawks, Packers keep surging
By Randy Gurzi
At this point, it’s starting to feel like a joke that will never end. The Atlanta Falcons continue to find ways to lose games that they should win. In Week 2, it was an epic disaster as they took a 20-0 lead over the Dallas Cowboys and then found a way to lose that one 40-39. In that one, they had a terrible gaffe on special teams where they allowed the Cowboys to recover an onside kick and get the win at the last second.
In Week 3, they didn’t have an onside kick malfunction but they still lost despite having a 26-10 lead in the fourth quarter. And they did so after a quarterback change. Chicago ended up benching Mitchell Trubisky in favor of Nick Foles who led them to 20 points in the final 15 minutes which is how they pulled off the 30-26 upset.
Foles, who had a Super Bowl win in 2017 with the Philadelphia Eagles, was 16-of-19 for 188 yards with three touchdowns as once again the Falcons secondary struggled to keep their opponent from moving the ball at ease.
Now at 0-3, the seat for head coach Dan Quinn has reached an insane temperature. He might not survive a lot longer, especially if these meltdowns continue.
