NFL Power Rankings, Week 4: Seahawks, Packers keep surging
By Randy Gurzi
The first two weeks of the season were pretty impressive for the Jacksonville Jaguars. They were able to perform well in two AFC South matchups as they knocked off the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 27-20. In that win, Gardner Minshew was impressive with three passing touchdowns, but he had just 173 yards passing which left some questions.
In Week 2, they were handed a defeat but kept it close while playing against the Tennessee Titans (who made it to the AFC Championship Game a season ago). Tennessee ended up winning 33-30 but the fact that they had 339 yards passing from Minshew and 102 rushing yards from James Robinson had hopes high as they took on the winless Miami Dolphins in Week 3 on Thursday Night Football. However, those hopes faded fast.
Miami looked far superior in this one as they kept Minshew from being able to do much besides dump the ball off. Jacksonville did get a great effort from Robinson who had 46 yards on 11 rushes and 83 yards on six receptions. He also scored their only two touchdowns of the game.
It wasn’t enough though as they fell to 1-2 and it now looks as though that Week 1 win was a fluke. Or maybe the AFC South is just really bad.
