4. The Seahawks’ offense is so fun to watch
The “Let Russ Cook” campaign is off to a scorching start. Pete Carroll finally unleashed his veteran quarterback to the tune of 14 touchdown passes — the most through three games in NFL history. It helps when you also have Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf and Chris Carson, though the latter went down with a painful-looking injury during the game.
As of this writing, it has not been determined if Carson will miss time. That would be a huge blow to a fantastic offense — one that could help Seattle become the best team in the NFL.
3. Tua Time will have to wait
Brian Flores isn’t the type of coach to keep Tagovailoa on the bench; he’ll put in the players he thinks gives them the best chance to win. Right now, that appears to be Ryan Fitzpatrick. The 37-year-old quarterback continues to defy time and space by showing off his arm and his legs. He ran for 38 yards and a touchdown against the Jaguars last Thursday night, all while completing 18 of 20 passes for two touchdowns.
If I didn’t know better, Fitzpatrick was 27 and not 37. He plays with the fire and competitiveness that Flores craves. Even if management ordered Flores to keep their prized first-rounder on the bench, it may be in everyone’s best interest to ride Fitzpatrick until the wheels fall off — if that happens.
2. The Panthers-Chargers game was glorious
The combination of blues was already a great color palette to work with. Adding those colors made this game the best game I’ve ever seen… from a visual standpoint.
1. Someone in Denver deserves a raise
If you can’t have fans, then why not bring over 20 years of cartoon characters to the game? It’s good to see South Park back on-air, sort of.
That’s perfect marketing by the creators of South Park, a hilarious move by the Broncos organization and just a perfect fit in such a wild NFL Week 3.
