The Kansas City Chiefs sent a message on Monday night in Baltimore.

They are the defending Super Bowl champions. The Kansas City Chiefs had won 11 consecutive games dating back to Week 12 of the 2019 season. That included a three-game postseason run and conquests of the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers.

In all three of those victories, Andy Reid’s team rallied from a 10-plus point deficit to come away with a win. And two games into 2020, the Chiefs had been once again in the mode of falling behind early and then rallying for a victory.

They spotted the Houston Texans a 7-0 lead in the Thursday night opener at home before coming away with a 34-20 win. Last Sunday at Los Angeles, that the vending champions fell behind 17-6 in the third quarter before coming all the way back in overtime for a 23-20 overtime triumph.

Monday night at Baltimore figured to be a different story as Andy Reid’s team looked to cool off a Ravens’ team that had won 14 straight regular-season contests. Lamar Jackson and company came out strong and took a 3-0 lead.

And then the Chiefs showed why they are the defending NFL champions. Kansas City rolled to a 34-20 triumph (via Mark Maske of the Washington Post) and more than doubled the Ravens in total yards (517-228). Reid’s club now owns a 12-game overall winning streak.

The standouts were many for the Chiefs but there is one area that needs to be addressed, perhaps sooner than later?
