The New York Jets reset their franchise in this 2021 mock draft in September.

Things are not pretty for the New York Jets right now. Entering Week 4, Gang Green sits at 0-3 but, of the teams that have yet to register a win, they have been by far the worst in the league. They rank last in the NFL in total offense and points scored and it’s just as bad on the other side of the ball, ranking 27th in points allowed this season.

Head coach Adam Gase has been nothing short of a disaster basically since the moment that he arrived in New York. His biggest task was to mold young quarterback Sam Darnold and he’s failed miserably in doing so. In fact, you could make the argument that he’s done more to hurt the former No. 3 overall pick than to help him.

With that and a roster that is lacking in a litany of key areas, this team is in need of hitting the reset button. Lucky for them, the 2021 NFL Draft offers the Jets a fantastic opportunity to do exactly that.

The 2021 NFL Draft is the time for the New York Jets to remodel the roster

Thanks to some deals by the front office, the New York Jets are flush with picks in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Jamal Adams trade netted them Seattle’s first- and third-round picks in the draft and they also have a fifth-rounder from the Giants and potentially a seventh-rounder from the Seahawks in the aforementioned trade also.

Oh yeah, they’re also on pace to have the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, as well.

This could be a franchise-transforming draft, especially if Gase is let loose, which is more than expected at this point. The big question begins with the first overall pick, though. Should they move on from Darnold and truly hit reset or get a king’s ransom for the selection? Let’s find out in a late-September 2021 mock draft for the New York Jets.
