2. Damon Harrison, Defensive Tackle

This season was supposed to be different. The Dallas Cowboys finally addressed the interior of the defensive line as they brought in Dontari Poe and Gerald McCoy. However, things got bad quickly as McCoy was lost almost as immediately as training camp began.

As for Poe, he’s been a complete non-factor. This was pointed out by Stephen Mullenax of The Landry Hat, who said that while Poe played more defensive snaps in Week 3 than he had in the prior two games, he came away with little to show for it.

"“In fact, Poe played his most defensive snaps of the season against the Seahawks in Week Three, 46 defensive snaps (61%). He came away with just one solo tackle and one assist. And while quarterback Russell Wilson and Seattle’s passing attack was busy embarrassing the secondary to the tune of five touchdowns, the Seahawks still made the time to rush for 117 yards on 26 attempts (4.5 yards per carry).” — Mullenax, The Landry Hat"

Thankfully, the Cowboys have an alternative option in Damon Harrison — who is actually staying in the Dallas area according to Mullenax. Cowboys fans know Harrison well as the player known as “Snacks” was a beast against them during his time with the New York Giants. He also quickly shored up the Detroit Lions defense when they traded for him in 2018.

Harrison would be an immediate upgrade for Dallas. At this point, there’s really no reason not to bring him in and try to shut down the opposing running game.
