Minnesota Vikings: Studs and duds from Week 4 vs. Texans
Stud: Balanced passing attack
For basically the first time this season, Minnesota had both the passing attack and the ground game working during the course of the game, which is something we haven’t seen much of during the first three weeks of the year.
After a slow start to the season, Kirk Cousins and company were able to counter the top-notch running game by opening things up around the field through the air.
Cousins finished with 260 yards and one touchdown in the passing game, completing 16 of his 22 pass attempts while also not recording and interception in the win.
The wide receiving duo of Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson once again led the way for the receiving group, with Thielen tallying a team-best eight catches for 114 yards and one touchdown, with the rookie Jefferson adding four catches for 103 yards, his second straight 100-plus yard receiving game.
Dud: Pass defense
Another dud that took place yet again fro Minnesota in Week 4 against Houston was its pass defense and being able to limit opposing offenses through the air during the four-quarter contest.
The Vikings once again struggled in that area on defense, which has become a common occurrence to this point in the regular season.
In the game, Houston finished with a total of 300 passing yards, with Deshaun Watson converting on 20 of his 33 pass attempts with two touchdowns. Will Fuller led the receiving group with six catches for 108 yards and one touchdown, nearly adding another touchdown late in the game before it was overturned in the endzone.
