2. Minnesota Vikings vs. Houston Texans

When the 2020 NFL season began, no one would’ve predicted that neither the Texans nor the Vikings would’ve won a game before meeting in Week 4. That makes the stakes for this game even higher, though, as both teams obviously need a victory to get their seasons on track.

In Houston’s case, however, it’s hard to blast them for not having a win yet. Their opening three games on the schedule were brutal as they’ve had to face the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, three teams that have just one loss between them, which came when the Ravens and Chiefs played one another.

Things haven’t been as quietly optimistic for the Vikings, though. After going 10-6 a year ago, they have looked the part of an 0-3 team in games that many marked down as sure wins when projecting this offseason. A big reason for that is the roster turnover that they’ve suffered.

Minnesota’s losses on defense were huge as they saw multiple veterans leave the team. Now, they have a young secondary that has struggled to find its footing early in the season while the loss of linebacker Anthony Barr to injury has been quite detrimental. Throw in Kirk Cousins wavering on offense and this team has looked in trouble.

Most games between winless clubs don’t figure to be all that exciting. Having said that, when you have two teams who had high hopes coming into the year trying to turn things around early in the year, this matchup has major implications about which team could recover and make a run and which team could be headed for a top-10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
