Green Bay Packers: 5 Bold predictions for Week 4 vs. Falcons
1. Packers win by 14 as teams combine for 70+ points
In case this wasn’t made clear by making predictions that Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones and two pass-catchers are going to have big days, I expect the Green Bay Packers offense to absolutely roll against the Falcons. Yes, Atlanta is probably better than their 0-3 record suggests but the defense remains incapable of stopping a top-tier offense for 60 minutes, which the Packers clearly have.
Having said that, the Green Bay defense has simply not been in the business of locking opposing offenses down so far this season. And for all the issues that the Falcons have, putting points on the board isn’t one of them. Matt Ryan is playing well and his host of weapons, headlined by Julio Jones (who may return on Monday) and Calvin Ridley, remains exceptionally dangerous.
With Packers linebacker Christian Kirksey now on IR, this defense is going to have a tough time coming up with stops for most of the game. They have the playmakers in the secondary to conjure up a couple big plays, which will be critical, but this game has shootout written all over it.
Green Bay is going to come up with another stout victory as they’ll win by two touchdowns on Monday Night Football but it won’t be on the back of their defense. The Over/Under for this game is hovering above 55 but the Packers and Falcons will shatter that as they deliver an offensive showcase that produces over 70 combined points.
