NFL Power Rankings, Week 5: Cowboys free-falling, Bills stay perfect
By Randy Gurzi
This will go down as a game to remember for quarterback Joe Burrow. He led the Cincinnati Bengals to a tie in Week 3 but in Week 4, the No. 1 overall pick finally tasted a win in the NFL as he led his team to a 33-25 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. And as has been the case over the past three weeks, he’s tossed more than 300 yards through the air.
Burrow had 316 yards in a 35-30 loss to the Cleveland Browns and then had 312 in Week 3 as they tied the Eagles. In Week 4, he kept that streak going as he was 25-of-36 for 300 yards with a touchdown and a pick. Of course, he didn’t do it all alone as he had plenty of help from running back Joe Mixon.
The former second-round pick ran for 151 yards with two touchdowns and he also caught the only score from Burrow as well in the win. Jacksonville ended up scoring 12 points in the final quarter to try and close the gap but the Bengals did enough to keep them at bay and they moved to 1-2-1 on the season. They’re still getting better but they’re trending in the right direction.
