NFL Power Rankings, Week 5: Cowboys free-falling, Bills stay perfect

The San Francisco not only could have won their Sunday Night Football contest against the Philadelphia Eagles, they should have. They were the better team in every area except one — which was at quarterback. Or at least that was the case until C.J. Beathard came in. But by then, it was too late.
Nick Mullens was given the start in place of the injured Jimmy Garoppolo and he finished with 200 yards and a touchdown. The problem was, he also had two picks, including a pick-six that essentially cost them the game.
Philadelphia had just taken an 18-14 lead on a 42-yard touchdown pass from Carson Wentz to Travis Fulgham and then Mullens threw the pick that made it 25-14. He was promptly benched for Beathard who led them on a 12-play, 75-yard scoring drive. As impressive as that was, he failed on the two-point attempt which made it a five-point game.
San Francisco then had to go for the touchdown to win instead of the field goal for overtime and while they got to the Philadelphia 33, a Hail Mary on the final play of the game hit the turf and they fell to 2-2. Injuries have been the 49ers downfall this season and the loss here hurt as it could have kept them in great shape while waiting for Garoppolo to return.
