2. Brian Daboll, Bills offensive coordinator

It’s taken a bit of time for Brian Daboll to get the recognition he deserves but it’s undoubtedly starting to happen with the Buffalo Bills. Yes, he’s at the helm of an offense on a team that went 10-6 a season ago and has started the 2020 campaign at 4-0. But more importantly, what he’s done with quarterback Josh Allen has been truly remarkable.

Allen had a plethora of doubters when the Bills selected him out of Wyoming in the first round of the 2018 draft and, to be sure, he struggled at many points throughout his first two seasons. In 2020, however, all the work that Daboll has put in is paying off. Allen has clearly improved leaps and bounds while the offense is running like a well-oiled machine around him.

This shouldn’t be a surprise with Daboll, even if he’s not the most recognizable name. Offenses have consistently thrived when he’s been in the building, whether it was Brett Favre on the Jets, Reggie Bush and Brandon Marshall with the Dolphins or Jamaal Charles with the Chiefs. He’s been making things click on that side of the ball for quite some time.

Daboll might not be the biggest head-turner like Riley or the No. 1 replacement option on this list. Having said that, luring him away from Buffalo would give the Texans a massive upgrade over Bill O’Brien on the sidelines that could unlock the full potential of Watson and the Houston attack.
