The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell in primetime to the Bears. Studs and duds from the loss.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a road trip to Soldier Field in Chicago for a Week 5 showdown against the Bears. Both teams came into the game at 3-1 and playing on a short week. For the Buccaneers, the team’s first prime time game in 2020 ended in disappointment as they were hit with their second loss of the season.

For the Buccaneers, the game was at times brilliant while other times maddening. While the team offense did not show the Jekyll and Hyde personalities between halves as they had in just about all of their games so far, the offense never looked completely sharp in this game.

Some of the offensive struggles were expected since the team was playing against a premier defense while also playing shorthanded. The Buccaneers played the game without Chris Godwin and Justin Watson at wide receiver while Scotty Miller and Mike Evans both played but had been limited all week in practice.

The team was also missing LeSean McCoy at running back and even though Leonard Fournette was active, he did not have any meaningful snaps in the game. This was also the team’s first game since O.J. Howard ruptured his Achilles.

Once again, the Buccaneers had too many moments where they showed a lack of discipline and they shot themselves in the foot in the process. The Chicago pass rush took its toll as the game went on and Tom Brady took a beating in this game.

The fact they were able to get the win should be even sweeter. The team now has a prolonged stretch to nurse their wounds and hopefully get some reinforcements on offense before they face off against the red hot Green Bay Packers for Week 6. But first, we look at the Bucs’ studs and duds from Thursday night’s loss.
