2. Minnesota offense will have to show up big

Along with the Vikings defense having to step up early and often during the Week 5 game on the road against the Seahawks, the Minnesota offense will have to counter that by putting up some big numbers on its side of the field.

In four games of the 2020 season, the Vikings offense hasn’t been horrible and has emerged as a solid unit the last two weeks after starting the regular season on a rough note.

Mixed with the balanced running game led by Dalvin Cook and the passing attack led by Kirk Cousins, Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson and others, Minnesota has managed to score 26.5 points per game, which ranks in the top half of the NFL. Defensively, that has been another case with the purple and gold giving up 31.3 points per game to opponents (sixth-worst in NFL).

In the last two weeks, both of which could have easily resulted in the Vikings pulling away with a win in each instance, Minnesota offense has looked pretty decent and that group will have to step up even more in Week 5 against Seattle.

First, you look at Cook and what he has been able to accomplish on the ground to lead the running game. Cook, who should be in the conversation for league MVP through four weeks, goes into Week 5 leading the league in rushing yards (424) while recording 75 rush attempts and six touchdowns.

In the passing attack, Cousins and the receiving group have found their stride in the last few games after a slow start to the year. Cousins looks a bit more comfortable with his pieces around him compared to the first game or two of the regular season and has relied heavily on Thielen, Jefferson and tight end Kyle Rudolph.

On Sunday Night Football this week, the Vikings offense is going to surprise everyone to stay up to pace with the Seahawks on the road.
