We turn back to the offense for the final stud and dud

Stud: Bell’s average yards per carry

Despite the fact that the Jets were slightly more disciplined on offense than usual, this was a promising return for the Jets. There is still a long way to go before Bell can be putting up the numbers he did in Pittsburgh, but his yards per carry, at 4.6 per attempt, was an improvement after the first few games of this season and the tail end of 2019.

This is though promising for Bell, he showed he had the fighting spirit and emulated Gore in previous weeks of chewing yards despite bodies on top of him. If he can carry this into a new season with many possible additions to the squad at key positions and with a possible new head coach, we can hope for a return to the days at the Steelers for Le’Veon Bell

Dud: Third-down conversions on offense

This has been another weakness for gang green this year, they have struggled badly when it comes to this season. They have one of the worst conversion rates in the league at 35.71% and this was a game where they finished with just a 30% third-down conversion rate.

This is an area that did improve slightly as Joe Flacco grew into the game and Jamison Crowder began to dig him out of trouble, but in their first 8 possessions which reached third down, Gase’s side converted only one of them.

This again throws doubt over Gase’s play-calling and they will need something to change when it comes to strategy and game management, as so far this is not working for the Jets, and they have their record to show for it.
