The Philadelphia Eagles were beaten by their in-state rival Steelers. They had some studs and there were plenty of duds.

To say that the Philadelphia Eagles‘ performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers was disappointing would be a complete understatement. Though the final score was 38-29, if you watched the game, as an Eagles fan, you had to be feeling sick to your stomach.

Steelers WR Chase Claypool‘s four touchdown catches more than made up for a late Eagles rally as the team wasn’t able to get in a rhythm from the opening snap onward. In addition, another list of injured players added to an already depleted roster that is now 1-3-1.

This was an in-state rivalry game for supremacy between these two teams. Though the Eagles still lead the overall series 48-29-3, this loss certainly doesn’t help the city of Brother Love get over it.

In the first half though, the game was tied before the Steelers went into halftime with a lead at 17-14. The second half, however, was a far different story as the Eagles were beaten off the line of scrimmage rather easy by Steelers defenders, specifically T.J. Watt who was celebrating a birthday.

Even though they were down 31-14 at one point and roared back to pull within two, the Eagles could not contain Claypool or even protect Carson Wentz. As a result, they let their in-state competition have the opportunity to celebrate. Despite the loss, some players showed promise and played exceptionally well.

That said, here are the studs and the duds from the Eagles Week 5 game against the Steelers.
