2020 NFL Power Rankings Week 6: Browns crack top-10, Chiefs slip up

They might not have won the game, but the Washington Football Team still had something that made everyone feel good in Week 5. When Kyle Allen was taken out of the game, Alex Smith came onto the field for the first time since suffering a brutal leg injury nearly two years ago.
Smith had several surgeries and infections following the broken leg he suffered and there were even reports later on that he nearly lost his life. His ability to battle back was big but even larger than that was the fact that he made it onto the field Sunday. And on top of that, even when Allen was cleared to return, Smith stayed on the field.
Understandably, Smith was rusty and completed just 9-of-17 passing attempts for 37 yards. He wasn’t as good as Kyle Allen who had 74 yards on 9-of-13 and even ran a seven-yard touchdown. Having said that, the real question isn’t what will happen between these two but if the team plans on going with either of them long-term over Dwayne Haskins who was benched ahead of this game.
Washington has had a rough season as they continue to drop games with their only win coming on the surprising victory in Week 1. However, just like every other NFC East team, they’re still in the race. Which is a knock on that league rather than a compliment to any of those clubs.
