After the Atlanta Falcons faced off against the Carolina Panthers in Week 5, here are three studs and duds that appeared for the Falcons in the contest.

The Atlanta Falcons entered Week 5 against a divisional opponent looking to finally get into the win column for the first time in the 2020 NFL season.

The Falcons hosted an NFC South squad in the Carolina Panthers in the fifth week of the regular season schedule on Sunday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, attempting to start to right the ship in a year that has been off to a rough start.

Unfortunately for the Falcons once again, they managed to fall on their home field and have lost five straight games to begin the season after being defeated by the Panthers 23-16 in Week 5.

In the game, Atlanta managed to get out to a 7-3 lead after the first quarter, but Carolina stepped on the gas to round out of the opening half with a 17-0 advantage in the second frame to take a 20-7 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Falcons made a second-half push to make things interesting in the end, outscoring the Panthers 9-3 in the final two quarters, but it wasn’t enough to finally get into the win column.

With the win, Carolina improved to 3-2 overall on the year while moving to 2-1 in road contests in 2020. In the loss, Atlanta remains winless while now having lost five straight contests to fall to 0-5 overall.

Atlanta will return to the field in Week 6 when it faces off against the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday afternoon in Minnesota. Carolina will get back to action next Sunday afternoon as well, returning home to host the Chicago Bears in Carolina.

Now with the Week 5 divisional showdown between the Falcons and Panthers over, let’s take a look back at some studs and duds from Atlanta in the contest.
