Stud: Late push in the second half

One bright spot that you could try and take away from the Week 5 loss for Atlanta was the fact that it was able to put together somewhat of a late push together in the second half to try and battle back into the game.

More often than not to begin the year, we’ve seen the Falcons get off to a hot start and taper off for the rest of the game resulting in blowing early leads in the first half.

Atlanta managed to put together a stronger second half than the first half against Carolina on Sunday, but the Falcons dug themselves into too deep of a hole in the opening two quarters while trailing by 13 going into halftime.

It was at least somewhat of a positive to see Atlanta turn things up a notch late in the contest. Now the Falcons just need to work on actually putting together a solid four quarters to be able to crack into the win column.

Dud: Falling to 0-5 on the season

The biggest dud that comes out of the loss for the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the fact that they now sit at 0-5 overall on the year going into Week 6.

Obviously no team wants to go through a losing streak of any sort, especially five losses in a row at any point in the regular season. That’s the reality now for Atlanta, however, as it dropped its fifth straight contest to begin the year to remain one of the few teams yet to get a win in the 2020 campaign.

Even worse for the Falcons is the fact that they will have to turn around and play the Minnesota Vikings on their home field in Week 6, while also having to play the likes of the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers twice each to round out the rest of the regular season.
