Vanderbilt. Dimitri Moore. Scouting Report. LB. 4. player. 887. Pick Analysis

With the fourth pick in this mock draft, it’s tempting to go after an edge rusher since Dallas has really struggled to get after the quarterback. However, they’ve struggled just as much when it comes to linebacker play. Jaylon Smith hasn’t been himself lately and while Leighton Vander Esch has shown glimpses of being a big-time playmaker, he has also missed an awful lot of football in his young career. Lastly, there’s Sean Lee who made it through 16 games (finally) in 2019 only to start this year on the IR.

Now, Dallas starts to look for some more talent in this mock draft and that leads to them picking up Dimitri Moore from Vanderbilt. Moore is undersized at just 225-pounds but with Dallas utilizing more of a 3-4 hybrid defense, he could end up being a good fit for them as a versatile linebacker who can not only read and diagnose run plays but can help in pas coverage as well.

Moore racked up 84 tackles and a sack as a freshman and had another 99 in his sophomore campaign. This season, he already has 17 tackles in just two games played. He’s all over the field and the Cowboys could surely use a hungry player with Moore’s instincts on their defense.
