Atlanta Falcons: 5 General manager candidates that could turn franchise around
1. Ed Dodds
One of the top candidates for any general manager or front office position search should include Indianapolis Colts’ Assistant General Manager, Ed Dodds.
Dodds has been considered by many around the NFL to be one of the top personnel evaluators in the entire league, and that could be something the Falcons try and bring into the organization with the general manager opening this offseason.
Dodds has over 18 years of experience in the league, including four most recently with the Colts and three as the organization’s Assistant General Manager.
Since joining Indianapolis, Dodds has been a part of helping the roster continue to thrive and not take a step back both via the NFL Draft and free agency. Most recently in 2020, he helped with the signings of top free agents Philip Rivers, Xavier Rhodes and others while also assisting in the team bringing in another solid draft class in 2020.
Prior to coming to the Colts, Dodds most notably spent 10 years with the Seattle Seahawks as a Senior Personnel Executive and worked closely with Seattle general manager John Schneider in helping the Seahawks during multiple Super Bowl runs.
Dodds has the ability to be creative in finding talent and bringing them to an organization while continuing to improve areas of the team every year. His track record certainly reflects that and Atlanta should target him to bring into the organization this offseason.
