DraftKings NFL picks, Week 6: Best DFS fantasy football values
By Drew DeLuca
The best DraftKings NFL picks and values at each position in Week 6.
With no Thursday game this week and no rescheduled games (knock on wood), the DraftKings NFL main slate for DFS fantasy football offers a veritable harvest in comparison to last week.
Even with the Chargers, Raiders, Saints and Seahawks on bye, we expect cash line point totals to soar; it’s critical to identify the best of the many attractive GPP stacks and cash game values on DraftKings.
We take a position-by-position tour of the Sunday main slate (1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET games only) and offer up our recommendations. We offer our picks in price tiers this week to make roster construction a bit easier.
DraftKings NFL Week 6 values: Quarterbacks
We don’t completely dislike Aaron Rodgers (GB at TB, $7,500), but of the three blue chip ($7,000 and up) quarterbacks this week, Lamar Jackson (BAL at PHI, $7,700) is at the top of our list, followed by Deshaun Watson (HOU at TEN, $7,000). Of the three, Rodgers is the clear fade against a better-than-advertised Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense.
Jackson squares up against an Eagles defense that has only given up 27 rushing yards to quarterbacks so far this season. However, Dwayne Haskins, Jared Goff, Joe Burrow, Nick Mullens, and Ben Roethlisberger don’t exactly match up to Lamar’s legs, and only four teams have allowed more passing touchdowns than the Eagles so far this season.
In the next price tier ($6,000-$6,900), Ben Roethlisberger (PIT vs. CLE, $6,700) found a new toy in the form of Chase Claypool last week. Only five teams have given up more points per week to the quarterback position than the Cleveland Browns, who rank in the bottom three in both passing yards and touchdowns allowed.
Left for dead by some in the fantasy football community, Matt Ryan (ATL at MIN, $6,600) welcomes back Julio Jones this week against a Minnesota Vikings defense that ranks in the bottom third in terms of fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Meanwhile, starting cornerback Holton Hill and reserve Kris Boyd will both miss the matchup due to injury, so Ryan has all of the necessary ingredients for this “get-right game” recipe.
From the bargain bin ($5,900 and under), we like Ryan Fitzpatrick (MIA vs. NYJ, $5,900). Granted, we could say this every other week about the journeyman, but it’s a revenge game. The overall QB7 in fantasy football so far this season also happens to draw a terrible New York Jets football team.
Honorable mentions include Matthew Stafford (DET at JAX, $6,300), Kirk Cousins (MIN vs. ATL, $6,100), Ryan Tannehill (TEN vs. HOU, $5,900). While some may be attracted to Joe Burrow (CIN at IND, $5,400), we’ll pass on his declining production over the past three weeks and opt for Carson Wentz (PHI vs. BAL, $5,600).
Wentz should pad the stat sheet with tons of garbage time points: the emergence of Travis Fulgham, now the starting X receiver, should open up the middle of the field for Carson Wentz. This should allow the Eagles’ franchise quarterback to re-establish a lost connection with one of his long-lost favorite targets, tight end Zach Ertz (PHI vs. BAL, $5,000). Rack ’em and stack ’em, even in cash games.
