Atlanta Falcons: Studs and duds in Week 6 vs. Vikings

In the first game after firing both their head coach and general manager following a Week 5 loss, the Atlanta Falcons had hopes of grabbing the first win of the new year on Sunday afternoon in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Atlanta hit the road to face off against the Vikings who had yet to record a win on their home field along with holding just one win on the season, and the Falcons were able to accomplish finally getting the first victory of the year.
The Falcons showed up early and often against the Vikings and held onto the large lead, blowing out Minnesota on the road for a final score of 40-23.
In the game, Atlanta jumped out to an impressive lead in the first half, outscoring Minnesota 10-0 in the first quarter and later taking a 20-0 advantage into halftime in Minneapolis.
To finish out the final two quarters, the Falcons didn’t let up as we have seen a few times already this season, even though the Vikings held a 23-20 second-half advantage, to coast the rest of the way to seal the victory.
With the win, Atlanta finally breaks into the win column in the 2020 season and improves to 1-5 overall on the year. In the loss, Minnesota suffered an embarrassing defeat that moves it to 1-5 on the season as well.
The Falcons will return to action in Week 7 when they return home to welcome in the Detroit Lions into Atlanta on Sunday afternoon. The Vikings will have a week off this upcoming weekend with their bye week in Week 7.
