Stud: Julio Jones

Another stud in the win for Atlanta on Sunday afternoon in Minnesota was the performance of Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones. Jones has had to try and battle through some injury issues early on in the 2020 season, but he was able to get back to the field in Week 6 and led the wide receiving group in the win.

The wideout finished the game with a total of eight catches on 10 targets, hauling in an impressive 137 yards through the air with two touchdowns. When Jones is healthy and back in the mix of things in Atlanta, this offense is scary to face. That was on full display in Minneapolis on Sunday.

Dud: Running game

Although this wasn’t a huge negative to take out of the game where all seemed to be going well for the Falcons on Sunday, you would have liked to see more out of the running game on the ground to counter what the passing attack was doing throughout the contest.

In totality, the Falcons running game finished with a total of 99 rushing yards on 37 carries. Leading the way was Todd Gurley with 20 carries on the ground for a total of 47 yards.

Given the fact that the offense was rolling for most of the game, this can be overlooked and the success in the passing game could have played a factor. But if the Falcons can get both the pass attack and running game going at the same time, look out.
