Stud: Matt Ryan

Going into the Week 6 game, there were some rumors swirling surrounding Matt Ryan‘s future in Atlanta moving forward while the organization searches for a new head coach and general manager for the future.

With those rumors, Ryan answered that by putting together a dominant performance against the Vikings on Sunday afternoon in a road contest, leading the offense in a blowout victory.

The veteran quarterback finished the game by completing 30 of his total 40 pass attempts, adding 371 yards passing through the air with four touchdowns. He was also able to avoid turning the ball over as we have seen to some extent throughout the year to this point, which was a great sign.

Ryan is still a top-notch quarterback, and he showed that once again in Week 6 in Minnesota.

Dud: Too little, too late

The biggest positive that Atlanta will take away from this game is the fact that it was able to finally get back into the win column and grab the first victory of the season. The unfortunate thing on the other side of things is that it happened a little too late, much like it did in the 2019 campaign after a disappointing start to the first half of the regular season.

With the 0-5 start to the year, Atlanta already has dug itself into too big of a hole and behind the rest of the pack in both the division and conference in terms of trying to fight for a playoff spot. Don’t get me wrong, getting a win is a positive, but it has just come a little too late in the year to make much of an impressive or meaningful outcome for the Falcons going into Week 7.
