Minnesota Vikings: Studs and duds in Week 6 vs. Falcons
Who impressed and who let the Minnesota Vikings down in their Week 6 loss to Atlanta.
The Minnesota Vikings entered the Week 6 matchup against a fellow NFC opponent looking to get the first win of the regular season on their home field of US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Minnesota welcomed in a winless Atlanta Falcons team who was coming off of firing their head coach and general manager less than a week ago while trying to avoid falling to a dreadful 0-6 overall on the year.
By the end of the week, the Vikings exited the game with arguably the worst loss of the 2020 season, falling at home to the Falcons by a score of 40-23.
In the game, Minnesota struggled right out of the gate, falling behind Atlanta 10-0 in the first quarter while trailing 20-0 at halftime in Minneapolis. In the second half, the Falcons coasted to a blowout victory even though the Vikings held a 23-20 advantage over the final two quarters. Minnesota just couldn’t do enough to even remotely get back into the game.
With the win, Atlanta was able to finally crack into the win column while improving to 1-5 overall on the season. In the loss, the Vikings fall to a disappointing 1-5 record on the year and questions will begin to arise as to what Minnesota does moving forward.
The Vikings will have a week off this upcoming weekend with their bye week in Week 7. The Falcons will return to action in Week 7 when they return home to welcome in the Detroit Lions into Atlanta on Sunday afternoon.
With the game between Minnesota and Atlanta now over with, let’s look back at some studs and duds from the Vikings in the game.
